I'm in this for the learning experience. I'm a teacher, dancer, musician, mechanic, student, systems administrator, and programmer. Technical Expertise My journey into the digital world started in 1991 with a Macintosh IIx computer. I learned DOS and QBasic in 1994. In 1997, I installed Red Hat Linux 4.2 on a Pentium 166. It took me a year to set that machine up so that everything worked, and when that was complete, I began learning Perl. I worked July, 2002 through January, 2008 for Integrated Technologies, Inc. as a programmer, systems administrator, and technical instructor. I currently work part-time for various companies, including InTech. Currently (October 2008), I am very proficient in PHP, Perl, Python, Unix Shell, Java, and Visual Basic. I am also familiar with C, C++, and .NET. I have extensive experience with Adobe FrameMaker, and developing plugins for FrameMaker with the FrameMaker Developer's Kit. I have extensive experience using and administrating Macintosh, Windows, and Linux machines. I also have experience in DOS (ugh), AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX. I have considerable experience as a technical instructor; I have taught classes on the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux usage and administration, general Unix, basic and advanced shell programming, Perl, Java, Java servlets and JSP, HTML, and the Adobe FrameMaker Frame Developer's Kit (FDK).
